Traveling provides great pleasure and inspiration for me. I recently had the opportunity to visit San Francisco, Muir Woods and Sonoma Valley with my wonderful boyfriend, Jeremy. Here's a look at some of my favorite moments that have captivated me.
I'm a huge fan of cute animals and the sea lions at San Francisco's Pier 39 were just that. They LOVE putting on a show too. Here's a live video of these cuties in action.
Water always offers a great sense of serenity and relaxation for me. The harbor at Pier 39 was incredibly scenic. I loved the lush green mountains and rolling hills juxtaposed with the San Francisco City Skyline.
A trip to San Francisco would not be complete without a ride on one of their famous cable cars. In my hometown of New York City, I probably wouldn't voluntarily ride on of our tour buses but in cities that I've been to before, it's the perfect way to see as much as possible on a tight timeline. Here's a video of some sights I captured while riding the cable car via Powell Street.
As our journey continued on to Sonoma Valley, we stopped at Muir Woods Redwood Park in Mill Valley California. Muir woods is the home of a redwood forest. The forest's coastal environment encourages strong and healthy plant growth. For anyone who practices meditation and/or mindfulness, Muir Wood is a spirited dream where we are allowed to become one with the energy of plant life. As I stopped to listen and breathe in the forest, the enchanting stillness of the forest grew louder in such an enchanting way.
The sun peaking through the tall redwood trees are sure signs that heaven exists on Earth.
The path to enlightenment can surely be found in the stillness of nature. If you can't get out, find a quiet space and sit comfortably for just two minutes and let your mind wander. Enjoy the experience.
The last stop on our destination was Sonoma County. There are no words to describe the beauty I experienced seeing. Each street, vineyard and town was more picturesque and breathtaking than the one before. After a day of being one with nature, letting my mind wander, and surrendering to God's beauty, I was able to tap into my intuition quite intensely and I received some much needed answers about my personal destiny in life.
Be mindful and walk the path to enlightenment at all times. It's always there.
I of course had to stop several times and breathe in all of the goodness around me. It was truly cathartic.
It was also fun to stop and play - to let my creative inner child out. I'm all about self expression and I loved taking my "city girl meets country" glamour shots.
